| I (Andy) was thinking about encouragement this week, and how God can often talk to us through other people - especially in encouragement!
There was a post on my blog a while back that really hit me - I'm not going to link to it, but it really made me feel better about a lot of things when I wondering what I was here for. Encouragement can be life changing, there are stories of people who have been turned around by a simple piece of encouragement. Even things like "I think you're great and I know a load of other people who think you are too!" can really help build up your confidence and help you to get a grip on life. The Bible tells us to encourage people, in 1 Thessalonians 14:3 Paul encourages the Thessalonian Christians on their encouraging, Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. So why encourage people? Other than things I've already mentioned? - it is our God given task to encourage and build up the people around us! Encouraging lets you give something to the body of God, aswell as ensuring that it continues to work well. God encourages people, when I've felt down at times, I've been prompted to look at this site - can you guess what I've seen? A group of people who really believe in God, who really believe that He can achieve something in today's society and who really care Him! In fact - you lot are amazing! How can we encourage? We can help people in doing things, offer to help someone to run an event or something similar - that shows that you care - it encourages! Praise someone! | Yeah this is ooo true! the smallest thing can build people up, you can help someone without even realising it, and it's true for the other way. You should try to say nice things about people everyday and if you're going to criticise someone, make sure you're being positive about it Posted: 22:19:46 03/11/07 | ||||||||
| yeah, giving someone a hug, or a big grin (especially randomly) can say so many things that are encouraging.

| the thing i use to encourage me is the song all ways look on the bright side of life
